Names part 135...

The latest list... forever changing.

George
Charlie
Bertie (Albert or Bertram... though I think we'd be setting up the child for a lifetime of grief!)
Hector (Rich doesn't know about this name yet and I don't think he'll be a fan)
Oscar
Eddie (Edward?)
August
Jude
Lachlan (Rich may have vetoed this)
Xavier (was a top runner but now is highly doubtful

  1. You know Tracey is a lovely name for both boys and girls... just sayin. xoxoxo (ps: I still love Charlie and Oscar is pretty cute!)

  2. Oscar, Charlie, Jude.
Jude is especially great with Rafael.
Ooh - Oscar Jude. Kinda nice with Rafael James.

Oh, but Charles Oscar! Very distinguished! and cool initials: COO-C :)

  3. Where did Henry go? ;-) George, Charlie, Oscar, Jude or August would be my picks from that list. Although I couldn't use Oscar because that's our orange tabby cat's name (he's a great cat, though).

  4. Charlie, Jude, Oscar (and Henry if it is still around) - all beautiful! I don't know how maybe people could pull off Bertie.

Someone gave me good advice to imagine the whole name together at age 5, 15 (ack!) and as a professional adult. It's so easy to pull off a name as a baby, everything sounds cute. :)

Whatever he's called we know he will be a cutie though!!! xo

    1. Tracey, of course... Love it!

I really love Charles Oscar, too! We have to find a place for 'Archie', but as I said to Rich, it doesn't need to fit perfectly but i'd love to honour my pops.

Julie, Rich vetoed Henry, though I really like it. Also gone is Harry... same veto!

Wendy, that's exactly what we try to do... we say, Prime Minister 'so and so'... and some names simply do not work. Even with Charlie we're thinking of Charles so that he has more flexibility. I think Bertie is not really on the table, but I do like it :)

It's all getting so much more real!!!

    2. I would definitely go with Charles over Charlie so if he gets older and wants a more serious/formal name he has it. What about Charles Archer/Archie? Or you could always give him 2 middle names or is that too long with a longer/hyphenated last name?

    3. Charles Archie is definitely near the top.. and perhaps we could add another name as I do love Oscar so much! I think that we'll definitely choose something from this list, though!

  5. A,

First off, I am not sure how to pronounce Lachlan, however when i attempt it comes out in an interestingly irish accent. I approve. Actually all names irish are good. you have connor, rilley, rory, ect. Jk. On a serious note, I really like Jude. Its very britt of you. Or, you could just go with archer/archie from the get-go. Its got a kick. I may just like confusing you a little bit. Along with the rest ^. Honestly, toast isn't even the weirdest name out there... that could work.... here are some funny names if you get board.

Along with googling weird town names -top three favorite things to do as I was TAing- googling weird baby names is also wildly amusing.

Good luck with your decision. The name will come to you when it does.

    1. Amanda, that list was so funny! My favourite was the almon nutter! lol

Lachlan is Scottish and one of my dad's favourite names. Rich really cannot stand it, though!

    1. Oscar seems to get such a mixed reception. I really, really love it, though, It was a front runner when we had Rafi. Do you have a fav?

    1. Oh, mine, too. I wish we could just name him that, honestly. This boy will be born almost a year after dad died so it does feel like a bit of a 'circle of life' moment. Having a first cousin with the same name, though, makes it super tough.

  8. Oh and Riley I like

Whatever name you pic will be perfect. Kids just seem to fit their names I think. Like I may not like a name but when someone has named their kid it, it just fits them as their personality develops I reckon

    1. I so agree about names fitting. Rafi is such a Rafi! It's crazy!

      Rich isn't a fan of 'en/on/ey' names!

  9. We like Zachary ( Zac ) any good ?

  10. Zack is pretty popular here and don't think Rich is a fan, though I do like the longer Zachary. It's one of those names I like but can't imagine how kiddo being called!
