Our Little Flipper...

As we've mentioned before Rafi is very comfortable in the water - when we've been to the sea, rivers, and lakes we're lucky to have close by in Maine. Even the odd swimming pool he's really enjoyed - though except with the few lessons he had aged around one - we hadn't pursued getting him officially swimming - until recently! With warmer days approaching and living not far from a beach and a river - it really is important to get him swimming. So we joined the local YMCA to do just that - and so far - the five lessons he's been too have been quite interesting! Slow-going for the most part with more anxiety than we expected (clinging to our necks/arms saying 'I'm sinking!') - except when it comes to jumping in for the last few minutes of the session. It's a complete reversal of the rest of the session - the other youngsters are more reluctant to jump and Rafi is launching himself into the water. We're sure the swimming side will come with more lessons and taking him between classes - so hopefully by summer he will be close to swimming. Here are a few pictures so you get an idea of what we are dealing with!! '

Nice post, Rich. So funny that he has no fear as he leaps into the deep end!
