Christmas Eve

We'd planned a festive filled Christmas Eve.. alas, poor ol' poppet is very sad for himself. He's either teething or is coming down with something else. We'd planned to hit Whole Foods (check), Panera (check), the Mall (check.. sort of), and on our way to run a few other chores Raf became absolutely distraught. We rushed home thinking that I'd be able to soothe him once we got in. Not a chance. For 3 hours - yes, 3 hours - the little sweety cried and cried and cried. He would fall asleep and wake up after a few minutes crying.

So, alas, out house is a mess, presents are not wrapped, pies and biscuits and stocking treats are not made, and our planned evening of drinking tea and eating mince pies whilst watching old Christmas films is, well, not to be. For one we couldn't evem find the films we wanted (talk about last minute), and Rich is on the rower finishing up the last few km of a holiday challenge we both took part in (I finished at 5am this morning!). I'm on the couch trying to get Raf to sleep, the kitchen looks as though it's been hit by a bomb.

Despite all this we couldn't be any happier (though I think Raf could). This year both Rich and I have been so excited for the holidays. And so no matter the details, this is simply the most lovely Christmas. We're all feeling very lucky.

Thankfully I did have time to quickly make a huge mince pie for Father Christmas. We also managed to buy him some beer from Whole Foods this morning as well as a nice organic carrot for Rudolph.

Happy holidays, everyone. Thanks for reading our blog.

Indeed this year is a special one for us as we have our LOs. I was just uploading pics of Raami in Picasa album and wondering how time flies! He has grown so fast..
