Afternoon at the Beach

Poor old Raf has been a bit poorly. We didn't realize he was sick but it turns out he likely has a virus which caused some tummy upset, but now he has an all over body-rash - which doesn't actually bother him, but it does, alas, bother his rash-squeamish mother. I do have a very weird phobia about rashes. It is very odd.

But, we did have a nice day yesterday. After we visited the Dr. we popped into WFs and picked up some picnic snacks and headed down to the location of our new house (all being well). Excitedly the plot is in the final stages of being prepared for building, and it was wonderful to see that they did not clear-cut the area, so there is plenty of woods surrounding us (we actually abut acres and acres of protected conservation land, which is breathtakingly beautiful). We then drove the mile or so to the state park which is also a beautiful beach. We had a picnic in the wooded part - which has very nice tables - and then, without towels, bucket and spades, etc - headed to the beach to dip our feet into the water.

Raf, though nervous of the waves (he had a bit of an accident in the lake when a big wave knocked him over!), had such a fun time. He ended up wading in and was soaked to head to foot. What he really loved, though, was running bare-foot on the wet, solid sand down, down, down the beach....

Here are a few photos:

  3. Oh..Get well soon Rafi! Raami had rashes last week all over the body too. Doctor said the cause was 5th virus, and the rashes are the last part of the virus to get off from the body!
